3.0 out of 5 stars Cute but not worth the price, November 22, 2010

I bought these wrappers because it says greaseproof on them and 40 ct. Well after baking I didn't see much of a difference in the grease area and I also needed to make 40 cupcakes. Low and behold they only came with 36. If you look at the container it says 36-40 ct. It doesn't even give you an exact amount. I'm giving it three stars because I feel that they were adorable in color but they didn't live up to the expectations of paying what they cost. They are slightly thicker then the color ones you get at the store for $1.50 but it's not a huge difference.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't see an advantage to "greaseproof", July 13, 2011
I thought greaseproof meant that the color held during baking - this was not the case, they basically became transparent like any other cupcake liner. So even though they are cute then didn't hold their color.

I just used these to make a couple dozen chocolate cupcakes and a couple dozen yellow cake cupcakes. In both recipes, the liners turned translucent after baking. These really aren't much better than the cheap baking cups at the grocery store. They are a little thicker but no more opaque. I stopped using these Regency liners half way through the batch and went out to buy the Cupcake Creations liners instead. They stayed opaque (even the white parts) in both the chocolate and yellow cake recipes. Skip these, go for Cupcake Creations Baking Cups, Green Circle 32-Pack instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very attractive and functional, January 8, 2011

I hesitated to spend the money on these, as they are considerably more expensive than standard baking cups. But I was very pleased with what I got. The nicest part is that you don't have to worry about batter spilling over onto cupcake pans and creating a mess to clean up. They make ordinary cupcakes or muffins look more upscale.

The cups are made out of a square of parchment paper that has somehow been formed into a cup shape by pressing and folding techniques. I thought about trying to make them myself at home, but not sure I could accomplish it.

They are not any more sturdy than an ordinary baking cup, so you can't use them to hold treats like nuts or candy. They come loose easily when it is time to eat your baked goods, and they hold up well in the freezer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money for special occasions., January 25, 2011

I bake a lot of fondant cupcakes and while I think that the baking cups you get at Michaels ($1.99 per pack of 75) is sufficient for most uses, I needed something that has that extra oomph. And these baking cups defintely fit the bill. One thing I would recommend though is that I made both white and chocolate cupcakes and the the darker the cake, the more attractive they look in these.

I got these baking cups to put individual desserts in for a wedding. The cups are super cute but arrived completely squashed on the bottoms as they weren't packaged properly. I ended up being able to flatten them out manually but had to order them from another vendor when I needed 240 for the actual wedding, because I didn't want to flatten that many! If you're just making a couple dozen cupcakes and don't mind a little extra work, these are great. Otherwise, maybe check out other vendors.
